Spring Washam
Spring Washam (she/her) is a Dharma teacher, author, and visionary leader based in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the author of A Fierce Heart: Finding Strength, Courage, and Wisdom in Any Moment (Hay House, 2019) and her most recent work, The Spirit of Harriet Tubman: Awakening from the Underground (Hay House, 2024), which Lama Rod Owens called “powerful and astonishing”.
Spring has devoted her life to Buddhist teachings, receiving extensive training under the guidance of Jack Kornfield. She was a founding teacher of the East Bay Meditation Center in Oakland, CA and she currently serves on the teacher’s council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Northern California. Spring has been deeply immersed in both Theravada and Tibetan Buddhist traditions since 1999 and has been leading residential retreats since 2004.
Her spiritual journey is further enriched by her work as a shamanic healer, having studied extensively with Shipibo Maestras in the upper Amazon region of Peru. Spring founded Lotus Vine Journeys, a groundbreaking organization that integrates indigenous healing traditions with Buddhist wisdom in the heart of South America. Since 2008, she has dedicated herself to various indigenous healing modalities, sharing her wisdom through workshops and classes across the globe. Her teachings and writings have been featured in numerous publications, including Lion’s Roar, Tricycle, and Belief.net. She is also the co-founder of Spirit Underground Liberation Project and Church in Atlanta, Georgia.
